Use the SS 30 Clear for stamped concrete.
I am planning to use Super Seal 30 Brown on an exposed aggregate walkway. I just used the clear on an aggegate back patio. It looks good but I think the brown sealer on aggregate walkway will look better.
I posted a picture of the aggregate walkway where it meets the driveway (before application). The driveway is flanked in plain, concrete-colored stamped concrete. I was thinking of using brown on the stamped concrete as well. Would you recommend that, staining the concrete and using Super Seal 30 Clear or would it be better to just keep the color and use Super Seal 30 Clear (w/o staining)? Thanks!
I have an aggregate driveway, that has slight salt damage and has a handful of white patches. If I apply this, will it darken the white patches and seal it in to match?
Are the white spots/salt visible when wet with water?
nope they are not. Looks normal when wet
Then they should not be visible when sealed with the SS30.
We need to seal the concrete pavers around our pool. We had them sealed about 3 years ago with a water based sealer, but they now look dry and unsealed. We have power washed them and they are ready to be sealed. I am thinking of using the SuperSeal30 Concrete Higher Gloss Sealer. I estimate I will need 3 – 5 gal containers. Am I approaching this correctly? See photos of the current patio.
i used Super Seal 30 on my stamped concrete driveway about 8 years ago. To reapply, do I need to do any prep other than clean with a pressure washer? Do you recommend any cleaners for the pressure washing phase?
Also, I have about 2.5 gallons left over from 8 years ago. Can I use still use it?
Thank you,
Only need a cleaner if you need to remove a stain such as grease or rust. The sealer from 8 years ago is probably bad as the shelf life is 12 months after being opened.
What size nap should I use for my pool pavers?
1/2″ to 3/4″
I want to order your sealer but I don’t know if the brown tint would be too dark. I have attached a picture of my pavers as they appear after using your cleaner.I want them to look as they do when wet. Please let me know ASAK so I can order the sealer.
You have to strip this to remove your old sealer that has yellowed: https://www.brickpaversealer.com/concrete-and-paver-sealer-stripper-5-gallon
Would you use seal30 or 25 on this pavers?
Either would work well. The 30 is just a little shinier.
What is the process if you previously sealed pavers with a solvent based sealer. Even though it has been over 5 years since we last sealed the pavers. Currently, even after we pressured cleaned there does not seem to be any remanence of any old sealer? Can we apply the Super Seal 30 over any previous oil based sealer?
That would depend on the current condition and if the old sealer has turned white or not? Pictures would help.
What is the prep required prior to sealing with Super Seal 30?
If dirty, just pressure wash for prep.
Can you use the super seal 30 on travertine pavers?
Yes.
sealer was clear but turned brown when dry?
Not sure what you mean. The Super Seal 30 Clear is “clear” and cannot turn brown after drying.
can it be used on an interior brick floor?
It could be it will have a very strong odor for numerous days on an interior application as it is solvent based.
The SS30 is not supposed to be thinned. If you spray you will need a heavy duty metal sprayer like this one:
http://www.brickpaversealer.com/chapin-1949-sprayer
It will not spray with a cheap plastic sprayer. The thickness and the solvent will ruin a plastic sprayer.
On another note, it seems that your sand is too high. It should be done a 1/4 to 1/2 lower than the top of the paver. This would stop the sand from being removed when applying with a roller. In addition, use a sponge type roller. They will have less of a chance of getting down in the sand joints.
I am using a pump sprayer for application as the sand wants to lift with a roller. What is the recommended reduction rate with aromatic solvent. It is way too thick without reducing.
For the sealer, use a 3/8 nap roller that can handle a solvent sealer. 1-2 of the roller covers should be enough.
Starting my prep work I will be using superseal30 on brick pavers. What type of roller should I use and how many should I use on 600 ft. Thanks Ed
Greg, Try the SuperSeal-M water repellent if you do not want to change the appearance.
We just had a Red Colorado Flagstone patio installed and the joints were filled with colored mortar. The joints are about 2 inches wide. The rock is porous. We do not want gloss or the wet look. What product would you suggest. We want it to last as long as possible.
so any suggestions?
we applied the sand 5 weeks ago and then did a touch up 2 weeks ago.
Mandi, if the sand is newly installed and “soft”, it is very possible that this could happen.
Will the sand come up from the cracks and stick to the brick if we roll out the sealer?
Unbelieveable! I used the SuperSeal30 on my pavers this weekend and they look better than they did when first installed. I researched many sealants including the local ones used in AZ and went with this product. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome and how easy it was to apply.
I coated the rolled concrete deck around our pool. It went on very easily and looks incredible. It was so easy to put on. I used a roller with a 3/4″ nap. Just a hint, I wore out 2 rollers, probably should have had 4. Put on a 2nd coat with the Super Grip added. The second coat went on even faster and easier, and I probably used only 1/2 as much sealer on the 2nd coat.
Thank you for the positive feedback!
